ICYMI: Washington Post: “One of America’s Most Important Voters Has Made Her Decision”

She’s Voting for Manny Rutinel

THORNTON, CO – As voters finalize their plans to vote this Election Day in what many are calling the one of the most competitive districts in the country, one CD-8 swing voter made their decision.

Jen Hernandez, an independent voter from Greeley who was previously unsure about who she would vote for, spoke with The Washington Post about her upcoming midterm decision. After voting for Republicans in past elections, Hernandez said that this November she is voting for Manny Rutinel because of his plan to expand health care access, hold ICE accountable, and end the corrupt, chaotic tariffs that are raising costs.

In case you missed it:

  • “Hernandez, an independent who has voted for Republicans, Democrats and third-party candidates, was undecided in late September when she spoke to The Washington Post about her choices in the midterm elections.”

  • “[Hernandez] favored Rutinel’s stances on health care, immigration and the economy.”

  • “After careful consideration, she decided she’s voting Democratic.”

  • “Many in the district, which stretches from Denver’s northern suburbs to her home in the meatpacking hub of Greeley, appear to be inching in the same direction.”

  • “People like Hernandez — a married, Mexican American millennial without a college degree who lives in a small city — are disproportionately important to determining House control”
