ICYMI: Gabe Evans Can’t Answer Basic Questions about His Record

During the debate, Manny Rutinel asked Evans to defend his record three times. He declined to answer any of Rutinel’s questions

BERTHOUD, CO– Last night on the debate stage, Manny Rutinel, Democratic Candidate for Colorado’s 8th District, asked Congressman Gabe Evans three separate questions about his record.

Instead of answering, Evans ducked all three.

First, Rutinel asked Evans about voting for the largest Medicaid cuts in history and ending the Affordable Care Act credits and if he regrets his decision:

“Yes or no? Do you regret kicking hundreds of 1000s of Coloradans and their families off of health care? Yes or no? Answer the question. Answer it. I'll give you time. You can have my time. Yes or no? Do you regret kicking folks off of the Affordable Care Act credits and Medicaid programs through the Big Beautiful Bill vote that you did?”

Evans did not answer.

Then, Rutinel gave Evans a chance to defend his reasoning for failing to release the Epstein Files that protect Donald Trump and his corporate cronies.

Evans did not answer.

Finally, Rutinel asked Evans if he regretted voting 7 times for the Iran War that has no end in sight, putting American military lives at risk, and is raising gas prices in Colorado:

“Do not regret at all sending American lives at risk and raising gas and diesel prices at home. Yes or no?”

Evans did not answer.

Once again, Gabe Evans could not answer why he stands 100% of the time with Donald Trump while making life unaffordable for his constituents.

“Even Gabe Evans knows his record is toxic,” said Alex Terr, spokesperson for Manny for Colorado. “Manny Rutinel gave him a chance on stage to answer for his time in Congress. And just like he has since taking office, he could not muster an answer. It is time for new leadership in CD-8 that advocates for their constituents and is proud of their record.”
